Mandy has actively been creating riding, training and horse management programs for over 30 years.
She enjoys watching the transformation in lives of those she connects with.
Her positive energy and desire to be a coach / teacher / adviser aids in equestrians reaching goals.
Mandy continues her education through the delight of reading, discovery of audio-books, leadership networking and volunteering while learning more from her students and their horses than she ever imagined possible.*
She has a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Science from the Colorado State University College of Agriculture.
Also held is an H-A certification of the United States Pony Clubs, the highest horse management and teaching level.
Her avid youth competitions included dressage, eventing and jumpers while transitioning into instructing and training.
Mandy's experience at a feed store fed her animal nutrition fascination. At the feedlot and ranches she was able to show how a horse given consideration due a partner is much more rewarding than using one as a tool.
Mandy is in the creation of the vision: StRide By StRide Equestrians Guide: An Educational and Coaching System Connecting You, Through Goals, To Life's Brightest Potential. Of which concepts she strives to share and employs in Equestrian's Academy programs. Top core values held are truth, believe and growth.
Mandy is a certified master life-coach, business coach and a life-time member of many equestrian organizations.

The Future Story Behind Mandy Biles
The Desire
"Horse", my first word, turned into "I want to be a horse trainer when I grow up". Riding lessons, horse books and Pony Club were on the agenda for learning and testing on my passion. I taught horse management skills. I did not really want to teach riding, I only wanted to get to the next level which required being a riding instructor. I wore 'shy' as someone who I was, not as a label I could peel off with effort. This testing made an impact on me. As candidates we were examined on how we conducted group riding sessions. I think because I was so nervous and knew this to be my weakest section within the entire test I stepped up and nailed it. The examiners told me after I evaluated my own teaching abilities with them they had their doubts about me going into the arena. They felt this would ultimately be the section I would not meet standards on (fail), as well as I did. They were impressed, me too. I knew I had done my best and the students seemed to appreciate what I had to offer too.
I was weak in other horse care areas, probably not because of the knowledge but because of the delivery; in my case the lack thereof it. They told me to do what I did in the arena, to teach them material, for the remainder of the test. I felt empowered by what they had done for me. I did it. I had accomplished a goal I had set out to succeed. I now held my certification! From this day forward I gladly wore the label as 'riding instructor and horse trainer'. I wanted to teach now. I earned it. It was only when I stepped into the arena I felt this confident for years to come. I continued my educational growth to be more. One examiner taught me a lesson I choose to provide to other; teach IT, and you will OWN IT!
For Confidence
IT was years later when I chose, "CONFIDENT" as my word of the year to try to overcome the hurdle of "shy". I wanted the 'shy' label to fade away. IT did. I was not certain why I was not confident to start with. There was a lot of achievements and progress in individuals and regions as I headed up extensive programs. I spoke in front of large audiences, created seminars, was a national level examiner and trained the trainers. I held several leadership and officer positions in various clubs. Then it dawned on me; I was volunteering. I could say, “It is not me, it is the company.” I did not do it for the credit; I did it for their mission. I was attached, or essentially attached myself, to something or somebody else. I had no identity of my own and I felt there was security in this. I was behind the curtain and when I put myself out there for them I felt it was in a safe zone. I placed so much heart and soul into IT. Time too.
I chose confident, my happiness soared and life started to feel light. A good plenty of my students told me you are more than my riding instructor you are also my life-coach. They coined the phrase, “The Mandy Method”. They wanted me to get out there and share this with others. This made me feel good although I wasn’t really aware as to what this meant. Surely I went about things methodically but did not feel I used a method. I used energy, a sense, an approach and based it upon what I saw at the present moment. There were some repetitious themes though and different level explanations. I tried to delve into why it was unique to them. I began researching for and developing my program outline. I had a good plan and was excited to do this. I was on a mission.
To Re-Invent
I call it the incident. This was a hard transition, so abrupt, no half-halt warning, and definitely not requested car encountering my pickup. I thought I would have to give up my horses and prepare for death awaiting. My brother was my rock and pulled me from the deepest, darkest places I had ever known.
Coming out of an abusive relationship, a vehicle accident immediately tearing away my label of “riding instructor and horse trainer”, my brother passing away, items as well as my identity being stolen, my mom’s dementia progressing all within a relatively short period I felt I only had my passion for my mission and vision still pulling me along to stay alive. IT did.
Looking back I did not even realize how bad off I was. I knew I was not okay and have come a long way in my healing with my Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), bodily pain and function issues as well as wearing my new label of “massive depressive disorder”. I needed to embrace the reality of not being who I used to be and be a new to me, me. Now that I am out of survival mode you get to live the rest of this story with me, Mandy at Equestrian’s Academy, a StRide By StRide™ Equestrians Guide.
